Today's kinder news from Mr. Potter's class read, "Today it is sunny!" All with correct punctuation and spelling! Way to go kinders! #kindercuteness
There is a lot of amazing art around campus. Mrs. Carter's 4th graders made paper mache eggs with balloons and tissue paper. Their eggs looked as fancy as faberge eggs! Mrs. Miller's and Mrs. Gallagher's 6th grade classes have art displays that represents the ancient civilizations of Egypt, China and India. The students' art is unique and detailed.
Thank you to Mrs. Gallagher's class for giving me the opportunity to participate in your Toolbox Caring Circle today. When Mrs. Gallagher asked students to tell me what Caring Circle means to them, one student shared, "Caring circle helps us because if we have something on our minds, people can help us with that." I think it's safe to say that most of us have many things on our minds this time of year. It's nice to know you're a part of a community that understands, listens and helps. The power of the Toolbox program is incredible.
In math, Mrs. Carter's class was constructing number lines to represent fractions greater than one.
Mrs. Brown's fifth graders spent time defending their mathematical thinking. They used multiple representations to support/defend their answers and ideas about the math.
Miss Coset's first graders can alphabetize a variety of different types of words, even ones that start with the same letter!
Ms. Seliga's third graders picked their arctic animals. Some of the animals they picked are walruses, caribou, wolves and seals.
Mrs. Smith's kinders have been writing about the farm. Here are some farm stories, "I see a barn and my barn has a pig and a horse." "I like the pig. He likes me." #kindercuteness
Mrs. Justus' TK's read "Guess How Much I Love You." It was sweet to hear the students talk about how their family members love them to the moon and back.
I had two fun lunch bunches with 5th graders this week. Today I asked them, "Why do you like lunch bunch?" They replied, "It is nice to able to think and have a cookie," and "It's fun because we get to know each other better!" #lunchbunch Today there was a lot of laughter too!
Chorus Update: Mrs. Gallagher and Mrs. Brown have re-scheduled the chorus parent concert for March 19 from 3:30-4:15 in the MP room
