TRADITIONS - What makes Olivet so special...
We have many traditions at Olivet Elementary. Family participation helps make it all possible.
Kindergarten Welcome
This event is the best way for kindergarten parents to get to know each other and the members of Olivet Families. Information that you never thought to ask the teacher is discussed while the kids are in class on their first day of school.
Welcome Back BBQ
This FREE dinner is a great way to reconnect with families and staff that you haven't seen all summer. New families are able to meet everyone and get to know the ins and outs of our school.
Harvest Fair
This family event is a blast. There are carnival games, popcorn and goodies. Dinner is available too. Wear a costume or come as you are.
Book Fairs
Olivet is proud to have had two Scholastic Book Fairs each year. One in Fall and one in Spring. The multipurpose room is transformed into a bookstore where students and their families can purchase great books. The Book Fair is open all week long to families and students can come in at recess to purchase items.
Book Swap
Olivet Families sponsors a Book Swap in the Spring. Families are invited to donate gently used books. They are sorted by grade level and spread out in the multipurpose room. Students come in with their classrooms to pick out a book. In past years, students were able to choose two books a piece.
Dinner and Silent Auction
This adult only event is the premier fundraiser of the year. Guests dine and dance while bidding on fantastic silent auction items.
Variety Show
Each year Olivet Families sponsors a variety show for the students at Olivet. The night takes place off campus where a stage is available. This is a night that you won't want to miss…..don't forget your cameras!
End of Year BBQ
At the end of the school year, we host this event to celebrate everyone's hard work and to say good-bye. Families come and eat, share stories, and purchase raffle tickets for some GREAT baskets! The last few years we've even been fortunate enough to have a DJ and dancing.
